This cover is crap. Way over priced This cover is crap. Way over priced, should be in the $6-7 range. The biggest problem is the material that lays against the screen. It is a textured rubber that leaves a residue and smudges all over the screen so you have to clean the screen every time you open the case. I tried cleaning the case and the screen thoroughly before closing the cover to verify that earlier residue wasn’t just getting pushed around. Nope, the cover itself is the problem. Unfortunately because this tablet is so new there aren’t a lot of options for cases/covers. This case would get 3-4 stars if it had a microfiber material on the inside laying against the screen, and 5 stars if it was then priced at about $12 after the material change.

William D Thompson says:

Does the Job, But Not Very Impressive This case strikes me as somewhat flimsy and overpriced. It is light weight, fits the Fire, 7″ Display, Wi-Fi, 8 GB – Includes Special Offers, Black perfectly, has a built-in magnetic closure that keeps it closed, and a cutout in the back to accommodate the tablet’s speaker . The cover of this case folds to serve as a stand for hands-free portrait and landscape viewing. The inside of the cover has ridges and is rubberized to not slip when being used as a stand. Since the cover closes over the screen of the tablet, I would have preferred a microfibre lining instead. Time will tell if the case will hold up or not.NOTE: Unlike the case for the Fire HD 10, the magnetic closure DOES NOT put the tablet to sleep (to save battery life) when the case is closed.

M. S. Davenport says:

Overpriced and could be better Overpriced for what it is. Does the job in terms of supporting the Fire if you place it upright on a hard surface. However, the ridges on inside cover have left distinct marks on the tablet’s screen. I have cleaned it repeatedly but they are still there. I am now using a microfiber cloth between the screen and the cover and will look out for an alternative case. The Fire is a great tablet for the money, but this case is terrible value.
